How the Young Liberal Movement Works | Print |

Membership of the Victorian Young Liberals is open to young people between 16 and 30 years of age.

The Young Liberals in Victoria recently changed their by-laws to allow all Members of the Party under the age of 30 the opportunity to participate in the Young Liberal Movement.   As long as you choose to opt-in to the Movement, you are a member of the Movement and are eligible to vote at Movement Council.

This is in addition to the many Young Liberal Branches which exist in rural and metropolitan areas of Victoria.

The Victorian YL State Executive is composed of a President, Female and Male Vice Presidents and 6 elected Executive Members (3 male, 3 female) - of which one Executive Member must be from a Country Branch. The State Executive is the administrative wing of the Movement.

Movement Council is our peak policy making forum and is the body which annually elects the office bearers of the Movement Executive. Movement Council also considers amendments to the Young Liberal By-Laws.  All members of the Liberal Party under the age of 30 who have opted in to join the movement are eligible to participate and vote at Movement Council.
